The Corpus Collective is Georgetown University’s performance poetry and spoken word student group. They write and perform poetry to entertain, amuse, move and inspire audiences, to tell stories that need to be told, as well as to provoke thought on issues, both global and local, which affect us all here at Georgetown. Formed in Fall 2011 and comprised of poets from Georgetown University, this collective seeks to create a space for performance poets and writers to hone their skills while providing a medium for these artists to express their growth and experiences as members of both the Georgetown and world community. The Corpus Collective writes, performs, and competes as a team, having most recently competed at the 2013 College Union Poetry Slam Invitational at Barnard College in New York City.
